Ewezy & Adrian Johnsen

Interview by: Adrian Klu

The project is called 0183:

For alltid.

0183 is a area code in Oslo, Norway
and for alltid means for ever.

It's sort of like a dance project mixed with a lot of other genres like hip-hop.
It has a lot of influence from pop, even R&B.

It's a very different project for the both of us.

“We've both been creating music separately for many years;
this sort of came together when we linked up when I
moved to Oslo over a year ago.”

-Adrian Johnsen

We were just supposed to hang out, maybe have a little studio session.

We ended up creating a whole project, which is the one I'm talking about right now.

We both took a lot of risk in the genres we changed over to.

The creative journey has been my favorite part.

We can bounce ideas off each other and bring like the Oslo and Sandnes dialect together and,
you know... give people something
new and something fresh

Just have fun and create a vibe and not just talk about stuff and just have a little
bit of content and not just vibes and toxic bars,
I guess...

But yeah, so for me as well, the most interesting part has been collaborating with someone,
which is something I tapped into a little before we started this project
with another artist called Jelsa or Stian.

Who is an artist I picked up and I helped write and direct his debut EP,
where I did a lot of the heavy lifting when it came to lyrics.

“It sort of put me into a different headspace where I could create stuff
sort of out of my comfort zone.”

-Ewezy

It also helped me transition into creating music in my own language,
which is something I didn't
want to do for a long time,
despite other people around me,
including Kiddo Cash, telling me a few years ago
to try Norwegian.

It's been really inspiring to
see another artist that you respect
help you bring something to life and
that we both are willing to
tap into something.

I think we both approach music
in sort of a personal way.

You don't necessarily
always go into it having like a theme
or like a concept in front of you,
it's more about expressing yourself.
